Design Principles

These experiments are based on five guiding principles:

• Design for intent, not identity
  Assume users show up ready to do something, not to figure out who they are.
• Offload memory to the assistant
  You don’t have to own data. You just cooperate with what the assistant remembers.
• Treat mode-switching as sacred
  A user shows up differently Monday morning vs. Friday night. Build for both.
• Prioritize entering mid-story
  Assume the user’s story began elsewhere, probably in ChatGPT.
• Invite the assistant to co-own the UI
  Every feature should answer: “how would it help if user’s GPT was here?”
